I wrote & published a book: Being the best you can be: Tips and encouragement to lead your best life
Updated: Oct 15, 2019
I can't say that is a title I never thought I would write as I know that from a very early age I have wanted to write a book of some sort or even of many sorts. As a child, my head was always in a book and I took great pleasure in imagining and writing up my own short stories. At some point that stopped, maybe when school got more and more serious and definitely throughout university I had too much to do and then well afterwards came work. You know how it goes, in fact I'm sure a lot of you have found the same things getting in the way of your hobbies. I'm pleased to say I saw the light and my first (of many) book has now been written and published.
Rather than being a self-promotion out, I want this to inspire others to complete their wish list projects, anything they've left behind thinking they weren't good enough or are delaying for the same reasons. You can do it! You don't have to wait until it is absolutely perfect but the main thing can often be that you do it, you take a chance.
I can't begin to express how excited and content I felt once I'd uploaded my book to Kindle. Simply allowing it to become public rather than letting it sit on my laptop was a huge achievement for me and I felt so much lighter afterwards. I went off to do a mindful walk to try and settle myself down, however the smile was there constantly and there was a bubble of excitement inside me.
There are more books for me to write and I have some ideas already brewing and waiting to get started so this is definitely the first of more! Through my travels, there are many travel books to write along with a novel or 2 waiting patiently on my laptop.
So, as I said above, this is more to inspire others to finish their projects whether they be unfinished books or something else. If you are telling yourself you can't do something then please stop and focus on believing that you can. We all can, we are all capable of doing the things we want to do in life and really the only thing stopping us is ourselves a lot of the time.
